sometimes...i wish i knew...
sometimes i wish i knew what exactly you wanted me to do
sometimes i wish i knew why i had to go thru what i had to
sometimes i wish i knew why you sent some people into my life
sometimes i wish i knew how you could have the heart to love your enemies
sometimes i wish i knew when can i be shaped in your likeness
sometimes i wish i knew how can i show your love to people
sometimes i wish i knew why there's sin and suffering
sometimes i wish i knew why there's trials and testings
sometimes....i just wish i knew...
but i know i'd never do know all that.
your heart, your compassion, your patience, your love, your kindness...
your grace.
just beautiful. then i take a step back. i realised i dont have to know everything to enjoy the abundance of blessings u've showered on me.
all i have to do is to take joy in knowing that,
i have you to run with me, to guide me to what u want me to do
i have you to hold my hand thru all that i endeavour
i have you to teach me how to relate to people u've sent to me, all to your glory
i have you as an example of how i can learn to love my enemies
i have you who is my potter, shaping me into what you intended me to be
i have you in me who will shine thru me, all to your glory. you're the hero in me :)
i have you who died for me, i have the gospel of love, peace and joy to bring me thru the world's sin and suffering
i have you who never leaves me, nor forsakes me
i guess... i'll never really realise the full measure of 'you never know Jesus is all you need until He's all you have' because im just in awe of the blessings u've on me...
thank you for Your grace :)
~sometimes the hardest lessons are the lessons that teach us best. we may stumble but we know whose hands is taking ours. i've gotta learn to let go and let him piggyback me ;p
thank You :)

Could it be that persistent prayer keeps us focused on God and strengthens our faith? When we feel scattered and disorientated we can recall that, "The Lord is my shepherd, I will not want" (Psalm 23:1).
When we don't know which way to turn He has promised, "In all your ways acknowledge (recognize and respond to) God and He will direct your path" (Proverbs 3:6).
When our situation seems hopeless we can focus on "The God of Hope who fills us with joy and peace as we trust in Him" (Romans 15:13).
When worry wants to overtake our hearts and minds we can rely on the fact that peace will come as we "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7).
When we can't see what to do we can know that "If any of you lacks wisdom He can ask of God who gives generously to all without finding fault..." (James 1:5).
Persistent prayer keeps our eyes on the Source of all we need as we navigate life's hurdles. When you are tempted to lose heart... take it as a call to prayer. Your faith will be strengthened as you focus on who your God is.
Father in Heaven,When Jesus returns I want Him to find faith alive in my heart. When the persistent trials of life seek to discourage me and weaken my faith, help me to lift my eyes up to see You in all Your wonder. Help me to focus on all You are and to lean hard into Your arms of love. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

as i was playing the piano... =)
i was reading shoemaker's (one of my many many readings and the very fact that im STILL at shoemaker suggests that im REALLY behind time for my readings. haha) and i was feeling so sian about it i decided to go play the piano! :)
i played... [a whole new world] and [now and forever] and this thought just came to me as i sight-read the stave.
you have the treble clef, you have the bass clef. to get the tune flowing, i can just play the treble clef line. the basic melody would still flow. but i realised, it's with the bass clef that beautifies the music, making it more full and more whole.
i reckon it's the same about our relationship with Jesus. =) we have to feel His presence in every part of our lives. otherwise, life doesnt make much sense. life wont be as beautiful and purpose-driven as God has meant it to be.
Look to God. He who loves us so much that He did not spare Himself to die on the cross for us, so that we can be made whole. so that we could reconcile with our Father :)
if you ask me what's grace and mercy. it's what you see on the cross. yes, right there.
"Be anxious for NOTHING, but in EVERYTHING by PRAYER and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses ALL comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in CHRIST JESUS." - Philippians 4:6-7

i drop my jaw in absolute awe.
A : "Jesus came to save."
B : "No lah! Goddess of Mercy then is the one!"
A : "Jesus is the one!"
B : "Jesus is the most evil man!"
___________________________________________________________________
about a month later...
A was getting ready to go out and buy lunch, fishes out 4 $2 and pauses for a moment and a sudden thought of blessing B with a little $2. B gives a surprised face.
A : "Dont surprised lah. Take it that it's Jesus using me to bless u."
B : "oh... Jesus takes good care of old people..."
A : "OMG! What did you just say? YES! Jesus takes care of everybody!"
B : "hmmm... Jesus came to save..."
PRAISE GOD!!!!
A is me lor. and B's my grandmother. There's a bit of inaccuracy in the exact convo but the main point is that things are changing at home!! :) a month ago, my granny can be so firm against the Lord and just yesterday, her heart softened...
and u know the amazing thing is this:
there was a time when i really tried my best to explain the Gospel to her... until i got really exasperated and i decided to just leave her alone for a while. then, school started. there's the bustle of moving into hall and preparing for uni and i just didnt have much time for my granny, much less share about the Gospel with her.
and somehow, i DONT know how but im sure God knows how because He's the orchestrator, my granny just spoke out of her mouth that Jesus saves.
interesting thing is all i did was to pray.
that's why never undermine the power of prayers and persist on in our prayers for everyone because we are connected through the heartbeat of Christ and prayers :)
sometimes, when we let go, we just fall back and stand in awe of His omnipotence. the Power of GOD. =)
Thank You Jesus.

a lost dog...
as i sit here, i recall seeing a callout note from a dog owner frantically looking for her dog. i think about how the owner must have felt, having brought the dog out for a good walk, yet in the end lose it.
if i was the owner, i would cry... the dog was bought for companionship and as the owner thinks about the times spent, or the times that were meant to be spent with it. Happy times, down times, whatever. each time a new thought jumps in, her heart wrenches. each time a reminder of why she bought the dog bumps into her mind, she feels the tight squeeze of her heart.
now think about how the dog feels...
lost? perhaps afraid to trust any passers-by that walks past. if the dog is lucky, the owner will find it...if not...
it may meet the type of passer-by that will think: "oh my goodness what a dog! it's definitely worth keeping and perhaps, if the dog owner loves it so much, he may be willing to pay a high price for it!" and before the dog knows it, it's in the covetous man's hands.
Soon enough, the man saw the dog's owner plea for his lost dog and he lured the owner to his house, demanding a high price for the dog. Given the owner's love for the dog, he was willing to pay any price... all for the love he had for his dog. The owner was even willing to give up his house, car, and ALL that he owned.
however, little did the owner know that during the times of his dog being lost, and being found by this greedy man who had no genuine love for this dog - and only keeping it for money's sake -the dog has adapted to life with the greedy man.
and as if the dog had sixth sense, it sensed that if it were to return to its owner, it would seemingly not have a shelter, a comfortable home to live in anymore. what kept the dog back from returning to its loving owner was its insecurity in his owner to provide for it.
the dog forgot that it's the unseen yet powerful, genuine love that could give him the best companionship it yearned for with man.
when the dog owner opened up his arms, ready to welcome the dog back into his arms, he waited and waited. No response from the dog; yet he continued to wait. Nonetheless, the dog dwelled in its doubts and disbelief that its loving owner could provide.
The owner believed that love comes with a choice. Seeing that the dog is reluctant to fall into his embrace once again, he made a sad exit but with a heart that if anytime the dog is willing to come back, he would give the dog the very best he had for it.
for years, he kept the door open, hoping to see his adorable petdog return but no...it never happened.
Instead, the greedy man sold the dog for a good price. and the dog, there and then, was drawn even further away from its loving owner.
now the dog's even more lost.
if only the dog had made the right choice - trusting the love his owner has for him and believing that the love will be sufficient. and of course, taking that one step to enter his owner's comforting hug.
---
if only. but im wondering, how many if onlys can we entertain in our lives? how are we to know that that's the last 'if only'? there's so much uncertainty in life, then again, i still feel the security of uncertainty. just like how i feel adequacy in inadequacy.
not because i have a heart of security; not because im born adequate and without a need. But because i've found my Lord who's given me the security, the adequacy, the grace i need to walk on in life.
it's been a period of struggles - settling down and phasing into university life. there's so much anxiety, so much stress going on that i've lost focus on Him. and indeed, i was overwhelmed by the amount of readings i had to read yet lacking the focus to settle down and get them done.
stress just piled up. and it doesnt help knowing that i'm not as knowledgeable as my coursemates.
until yesterday, i found the time (and yes, the channelling of our time is our choice) to just praise Him with a heart of surrender, really. i thank God for giving me that heart to praise and worship. i just wanted to do it i dont know why. maybe cos my spirit knows that that alone has the power to satisfy that desire in me. i just sang and sang - oh yes i love to sing - and it just dawned upon me :
why should i be stressed? why should i be comparing myself with others? havent i realise that im not alone in this? that i have God's strength to tap on? and all i have to do is simply pray and ask for it. Ask and you will receive.
boy i tell u, i felt SO MUCH better! and when i did do abit of reading, i did it real fast. :)
if you ask me, all i can say is, that's the power of God. but it doesnt just come. it comes with our choice to yield to God's power and realise that it's not by our might nor strength, but by His spirit!
and another thing that was bugging me was aop rehearsal today. i've given my word to be there but i really felt uneasy about missing youth for it. i just felt like i really must be there for today's message. please dont ask me why! i just feel it and i just wanted to be there. and so, like what Pastor Glen said, if something's worth worrying about, it's definitely something worth praying about! :)
i just prayed to God, in the name of Jesus, that He'd help me pave the way to go youth without feeling bad for not being able to commit elsewhere. in the end, the rehearsal was cancelled 'cos more than half the group couldnt go down. i mean like WOW. and i just rushed down to church! :)
but i was gonna be late so i just prayed that the message dont start until i'm there cos i really didnt want to miss any part of the msg!! and YEAH! the moment i entered e room was the same moment as the preached made his way to the front!
and when he preached about evangelism, i just knew that was for me. and the joy that came from it... wow.
i can't explain why i just had the urge to be there for youth. i can't explain why i believe that tonight's msg was what i needed even before i heard it. i can't explain so many things! and yes, one of the most powerful unexplanable thing is FAITH. the best i can come up with is explain it with experience.
it's (faith's) simply taking that step in believing that the ultimate end is something wonderful. and when you see it happen, you just cant help but drop your jaw in awe.
now i think about it, im convinced God allowed me to feel the stress in life for a good reason.. if we never brave through the storm with Him when we're at our weakest point, we'll never see the magnitude of His power.
or perhaps, there's no measure of magnitude to it at all.
how can u ever measure infinity?
that's the God i have, He who has no limits to His power and love and grace.
It's only whether we've chosen to accept and run into his embrace for protection in this crazy world or not.
remember - it's our volity. =)

WAIT... very beautiful answer i need...
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried:
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, "Child, you must wait."
"WAIT? You say 'wait'," my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers. I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked and am claiming your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate hangs in the balance, and YOU tell me "Wait?"
I'm needing a 'yes'', a go-ahead sign, or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
And, Lord, You promised that if we believe we need but to ask, and we shall receive.
And, Lord, I've been asking! I need a reply!"
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again, "You must wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut. and grumbled to God,
"So I'm waiting.....for what?"
He seemed, then, to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine,
And He tenderly said,
"I could give you a sign. I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead, cause the mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want --
But you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint;
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint;
You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just be knowing I'm there;
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence were all you could see:
You'd never experience the fullness of love
As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove;
You'd know that I give and I save (for a start),
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart,
The glow of My comfort late in the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,
The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked Of an infinite God,
who makes what you have LAST.
You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that "My grace is sufficient for thee,
Yes, your dreams for that loved one overnight would come true,
But, Oh, the loss! If I lost what I am doing in you!"
"So, be silent, My child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
And though oft may My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still, "WAIT."
____________________________________________
i guesss waiting is the one thing i always have a hard time with.
shrugs ;)
but i know ive learnt that God blesses us in His most unexpected ways..
that so many times after we wait, we forget about our trying circumstance
and when after a long while, we receive our answers to our prayers from God after the wait
we truly experience His infinite wisdom and grace...
maybe that's why we've gotta wait...to know him more and more..
:)
